At 34th annual California Hawaii NAACP State Conference Convention, PRESIDENT Lawanda Lyons-Pruitt, was congratulated by California-Hawaii State Conference of the NAACP Units, as the 2021 recipient of the NAACP Advocacy Award. This award is awarded to a member who speaks up on the behalf of or in support of an issue, person, or injustice. A person who advocates to ensure equitable treatment and opportunities when it comes to voting rights, education, economic empowerment, criminal justice, and health, including environmental justice.
